BINGHAMTON 2 DEGREES
What will Binghamton look like under two degrees of warming and what can we do now to prepare?
The Binghamton 2 Degrees Initiative is trying to make climate change present and pressing to help activate practical, local solutions.
Binghamton 2 Degrees can take a number of actions, centered around an idea of action research. We as a community will participate in this joint scientific venture into a new world that could look radically
different from our current one. We will figure out how to navigate it together, using our best minds,
our best voices, our best hands. We will document what we learn and teach it to others.
Upcoming Events
Healthy Communities in a Warming World
Binghamton 2 Degrees will host community-led conversations around physical and mental well-being as the greater Binghamton region warms along with the rest of the world. What are different health issues that we might be worried about? What local neighborhoods and communities are going to be most impacted? What resources, assets, and capacity do we have to respond to anticipated changes? And what will we need to develop? Join local community-based organizations and health experts for this timely and vital event. We will use small group discussions to explore prevention and mitigation strategies and plan for our warming future.
November 13 (Monday), 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Koffman Southern Tier Incubator, Binghamton City
November 29 (Wednesday), The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Johnson City
